EP " Let Em' Burn! " jadi taring awal perkenalan yang menjanjikan tiket mulus mereka menjajah banyak panggung dan Scene. sukses memperkenalkan materi EP, Calamity hanya butuh selang 1 tahun untuk segera melepaskan debut full pertama " Imminent Disaster " tahun 2015. konsep kuat ala Bay Area thrashers rupanya adalah obsesi Berny Santos Cs melancarkan agresi militan Independen. mengumandangkan kembali konsep konsep klasik 80-an khas Exodus, Metallica, Sadus, Vio-Lence, Testament hingga Defiance. saat Scene Thrash Metal sedang berkembang sepanjang tahun 80-an, lahir lah banyak band yang masing-masing memiliki gaya dan pengaruh yang berbeda. pengaruh terkuat memang tetap Gw menyebutkan nama-nama seperti Tygers from Pan Tang, Diamond Head, Angel Witch, Venom hingga Budgie sebagai pengaruh terkuat hasil blend genre Punk seperti Misfits, Charg GBD dan Discharge yang diketahui memang mengilhami lahirnya masterpiece fenomenal Metallica seperti " Kill em all " atau " Bonded by Blood " nya Exodus. tidak berhenti berkarya sampai disitu, Calamity kembali memperkenalkan single " End of the Road " tahun 2016. dan setelah semedi 2 tahun, Calamity memperkenalkan kembali single " The Truth " tahun 2018 yang jadi cikal bakal lahirnya materi album ke-2 " Kairos ". tidak banyak mengalami pergeseran yang signifikan, Berny Santos Cs tetap konsis mengusung warna yang sudah mereka sepakati. Untuk seberapa banyak yang kita dapatkan, Calamity tahu sekali bagaimana cara mengemasnya dengan pasti, dan bagi seseorang yang membenci warna metalcore, Gw tidak benar-benar terganggu oleh momen-momen seperti itu. Alasannya adalah karena lagu-lagu Calamity memang mengambil pendekatan yang solid dengan menyelesaikannya riff keren dan tidak menenggelamkannya dalam chugs yang terlalu monoton. album kedua ini adalah di mana sebagian besar materi lebih menonjol bisa kalian dengarkan, tetapi secara keseluruhan Gw menemukan ini menjadi sesuatu yang sangat menyenangkan pada setiap waktu mendengarkan. Calamity just go for an all-out aggressive approach, and the more Agression, the better the album. and This is just still the start however...
The Thrash classic with modern style title track opens the record " Killer Vibes " ! Like a slightly more angry, more violent " Kill Em All ". I'd imagine this was how most of the supposed "Purists" Lars Ulrich always whines about (Anybody else starting to think he's making that up and the actual reaction to " Fade To Black " was more indifference) wanted " Ride The Lightning " to be. violent riffs are fucking insane! The riffs are fast and most of all, it's THRASH! Style simply seperti awal kita mendengarkan kembali taring Thrash metal mulai tajam menggigit, Riff riff kejam dan cepat sudah jadi sebuah trademark yang familiar banget pada era-nya, dan karakter dan pattern vokal Berny Santos masih menjadi perpaduan kuat antara Alm. Paul Baloff, James Hetfield, atau Chuck Billy, all unhinged performance is unforgettable. is constantly barking the lyrics out with sheer force, he is an absolute fucking legend! yaa, mendengarkan materi Calamity Gw seperti dipaksa mendengarkan lagi materi klasik Exodus era " Bonded by Blood ", dan " Pleasures of the Flesh " yang di kloning dengan karakter " Ride the Lighting " nya Metallica, dengan typical kuat bernyanyi khas Alm. Paul Baloff, yeahhh !!! bisa jadi materi ini seperti " Bonded by Blood " terlahir kembali dengan cita rasa makin menyegarkan ! Young, riff-hungry band were pushing the genre’s boundaries, playing with more speed and dexterity than their metal contemporaries. They set the standard for American Thrash. deskripsi yang rasanya pas jika disini Gw memang banyak membandingkan karena benang merah-nya tidak jauh dari nama veteran tersebut. opening part drum di " Guerreros " seperti mengingatkan " Criminally Insane " nya Slayer kemudian part seperti lagunya siapa yaa, Sorry Gw lupa banget tapi kalian pasti familiar hehehehe ... yang pasti Calamity pantang kendor untuk membakar adrenalin dan Moshpit yang selalu pecah. track berbahasa spanyol rupanya banyak melakukan penekanan karakter lagu yang makin dinamis dan cepat. riff riff sakti ala Gary Holt memang Gw percaya adalah Root penjiwaan karakteristik berkarya Calamity. jika penampilan Instrumen Bass tidak cukup keras. Bukan berarti permainannya di bawah standar, karena ketika kalian benar-benar bisa mendengarnya, itu terdengar sangat menyakitkan sebenarnya. Itu terlalu sunyi. Itu tidak akan terlalu mengganggu Gw jika itu benar-benar tidak terdengar. Ada saat-saat kalian bisa mendengarnya lebih keras dan lebih jelas, tetapi ini hanya menggoda. Pada saat yang sama, dan ini adalah faktor penting, mereka inovatif, inovatif dan tak tertahankan. seperti kembali pada tahun 1985, hal yang sama diterapkan pada seluruh genre dan Gw kira ini adalah alasan yang menentukan mengapa semua album yang megah dari pertengahan tahun 80 an tidak akan pernah kehilangan status mereka. " El Vacio " menjadi track berbahasa Spanyol setelah " Guerreros ", sepertinya Gw mendengarkan " One " nya Metallica ala Calamity, slowly transforms from a rock ballad to a full-blown metal song in good coherence. The other songs just meander without meaning between some semi-cool thrash metal riffs and vocal screaming over the instruments. jangan lupa solo gitar track ini keren dan mendayu dayu di menit menit akhir membangun imej track tidak terlalu hanyut dalam warna ballad. dan Setlist disudahi dengan kolaborasi lagu " The Handlebar ", sebuah penutup manis yang berhasil membungkus kemasan menarik " Kairos " menjadi Thrash Metal Klasik dengan taste hari ini. The only thing keeping this from a 100% rating is the production value. It kills me that it doesn't get better than this, because I think this would be my favorite album ever if the quality wasn't so lacking. It's not so bad that you can't enjoy it.
And Overall, Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen, metal doesn't get much better than this. " Kairos " is one of those albums that from first listen will have you headbanging while screaming along and cutting your palm to drink your blood. seperti beberapa ungkapan sebelumnya Gw diatas, materi ini lagi lagi menjadi pelepas dahaga kerinduan kita dengan Karakter cadas Bay area Thrash yang cukup menarik disajikan dengan sentuhan hari ini. sebuah Konspirasi lahirnya Calamity ditengah gempuran Modern era, bagaimana Idealisme itu masih ada. meski tidak ada yang terlalu Spesial, Calamity masih menunjukkan " Kairos " sebagai masterpiece terbaik band setelah ditempa kuat pada materi sebelumnya. a classic of early Bay area -thrash. The strong concept of the Bay Area thrashers was apparently an obsession with Berny Santos Cs launching independent militant aggression. reiterating the concept of classic 80s concepts typical of Exodus, Metallica, Sadus, Vio-Lence, Testament to Defiance. when the Thrash Metal Scene was developing throughout the 80s, many bands were born, each of which had a different style and influence. the strongest influence I still mention names such as Tygers from Pan Tang, Diamond Head, Angel Witch, Venom to Budgie as the strongest influence from the Punk genre blend such as Misfits, Charg GBD and Discharge which are known to inspire Metallica's phenomenal masterpiece like "Kill em All " or Exodus " Bonded by Blood ". For how much we get, Calamity knows how to package it for sure, and for someone who hates metalcore, I'm not really bothered by such moments. The reason is because Calamity songs do take a solid approach by completing cool riffs and not drowning them in too monotonous chugs. this second album is where most of the material is more prominent you can listen to, but overall I find this to be something very pleasant at every time I listen. Not that the playing is subpar, because when you really can hear it, it sounds really painful. That is too quiet. That wouldn't bother me too much if it really didn't sound. Acceleration of the Track Setlist is indeed quite at stake, if the next slowly decreases and suddenly rises, like "Overruled", the scenery is quite different from the first 2 songs, but if you are music lovers without seeing the blueprint, you are still in pleasant 38 minutes. such as not draining much brain energy, Calamity is still too much pleasure in making catchy compositions and arrangements even though there are some parts that I think are too boring. "El Vacio" became a Spanish track after "Guerreros", it seems like I listened to Metallica's "One" like Calamity, slowly transforms from a rock ballad to a full-blown metal song in good coherence.
